i get “access denied” from the ynet haredim declare war on smartphones link…(and I’m not on a smartphone!)

I can’t figure out how to fix it but you need to delete the %22 at the end of the URL.

“In response, El Al said, “This is an unusual event, and is not in accordance with company flight service procedure. We would like to emphasize that flight safety was not compromised. The incident will be reviewed by El Al.”"

I don’t see how it is not a safety hazard. In my experience flying with Chareidim they are the most likely not care about flight rules eg not getting up until x minutes after takeoff etc,

Re ID case in Hague-I just don’t remember such cases when we were required to carry draft cards in the US.

The law in Israel is that you have to carry ID- the fine is pretty hefty if they catch you without it (how do they know who to fine, I wonder)- but if you don’t have it, you have a few days to appear with it at the station and you’re OK. That covers Shabbat and Chag, when I imagine almost no one religious carries ID.

Then again, I’ve never heard of anyone being fined, Shabbat or weekday.

LA Yid- there doesn’t seem to be much to that story. It would be a shame if it were true, though.

Thank you I like the new idea for a separate news post everyday as I read your cite only through RSS reader and I am not informed when new links are added to the page.

Re: “â–ª Haredim set up partitions on El Al flight”,

I’m not inclined to fly an airline that permits such nonsense onboard.

    “A Rationalist Approach to Suffering”

Medieval understandings of suffering were rejected, because they make no sense.

How will having a better understanding, help me if I’m the victim of a “random event”?

i agree. besides my objection to the daily news links (keep the weekly), please keep links to last 2-3 weeks (they dont work, and were only haphazard the past few weeks.)

2 — only applies to feldheim israel publishing. not feldheim usa / monsey.

    3. el al — i was wondering how long it will take this to crop up. wait till they strat putting up korot and lehi’s. either way, if the israelis dont put a stop to it, the international authorities and (more prob) foreign authorities will have el al put a stop to it. (esp if they “compromise” by putting them ( = ?) in separate sections.) and there will go no shabat flights.
